Appointments Must Be Approved and Training Must be Completed Before Soliciting FGL Business
There are pre-solicitation states for Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company business. Agents cannot solicit business in these states until their appointment with Fidelity & Guaranty Life has been approved by the state either because it is state or company mandated. There are also some states that require certain training be completed in order to solicit Fidelity & Guaranty Life business.
Pre-Solicitation States
Appointments must be specifically and separately requested in the following pre-solicitation states before an agent can solicit any applications: AL, DE, DC, GA, IA, LA, NM, NC, PA, PR, SC, TX, UT, WI and WY.
State Appointment Confirmation
You are not automatically appointed in the above pre-solicitation states simply because your resident state appointment has been processed. To confirm your appointment with Fidelity & Guaranty Life, click here to visit the state site or call our Sales Support Center at 1-800-445-6758. We will check our commissions system to confirm the states where you are appointed the effective date of those appointments.
Appointments in California or Iowa
It is mandatory in California or Iowa that your general continuing education certifications are completed prior to soliciting business or being appointed with FGL. This includes the Iowa one time certification of "Permitted Producer Activities."
State Specific Education Requirements for New Business Submission
Some states require that specific education requirements are met before submitting new business. If any of these are not completed, business will be rejected (or commission held where indicated below with an asterisk*):
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training*
FGL product specific training
State specific CE requirements
State specific Annuity Suitability CE training
Iowa Permitted Activities Certification (for all IA resident and non-resident business - see Compliance Corner on SalesLink for detail and certification)
Specific annuity product suitability training modules, as applicable
